INCOME TAX RETURN PACKETS WILL NO LONGER BE MAILED. The 2023 tax filing deadline is Monday, April 15th , 2024. If you owed $200.00 or more on your 2022 tax return after withholding credit, you must have at least 90% of 2023 tax liability (or an amount equal to 100% of 2022 tax liability) paid no later than January 15th, 2024. All tax forms, instructions, and other information are available on our website at springfieldohio.gov. Tax filing is mandatory for all residents of the City of Springfield eighteen (18) years of age and up, regardless of income (unless you are at least age 65, and have filed three (3) consecutive city returns showing no taxable income).

- Extensions: Extensions are granted on an automatic basis if a taxpayer has received an extension of time to file their federal income tax return.
