SCAM ALERT!

The City of Springfield wants to make citizens aware of a scam happening within our city limits. A tree company posing as a city Code Enforcement official has been reaching out to residents stating that their property has “Code Violations” that need to be rectified immediately and that they can provide the service for them to fix the violations at the resident’s expense, but if the residents comply, they would be eligible for grant money reimbursed from the city. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Elderly residents are the primary target. If someone approaches you or anyone you know, please contact the Springfield Police Division immediately at 937.324.7685.
