Springfield’s annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) will be delivered to water customers in their utility bill before July 1st. The CCR is our annual water quality report that includes information on our drinking water source, analytical results of contaminant testing, and regulatory compliance and educational information.
Join us for Bike to Work Day on May 19th from 7:00 am – 8:30 am on the City Hall Plaza. There will be prizes, food, music and fun! Thank you to the sponsors for helping us make this happen!
Thank you to everyone who voted in yesterday’s election! This was an important issue and decision for our community. With the passage of the 0.4% earned income tax the City will be able to reopen Fire Station #5 (reinstating one fire and one EMS unit) and the Johnny Lytle Community Police Substation starting in July. We will also be able to add six additional police officers to help combat the violent crime and heroin issues and continue to invest in the vital resources necessary for our first responders. The City will also put a minimum of $2 million into our neighborhood streets each year. This new revenue provides us with the opportunity to continue to build on the momentum that this community has seen in recent years and make us stronger as a community into the future. We will keep our word and our commitment to our citizens and fulfill the promises made. We will continue to look for ways to provide the most efficient and effective services to our citizens, while also examining ways to save dollars through consolidation and sharing of services. Again, we thank you to all those who took the time to educate themselves on this very important issue and remember we must all continue to work together to make Springfield Strong!
