New businesses have opened on Bechtle Avenue recently. The latest are IHOP and Dick’s Sporting Goods. IHOP is located near Hobby Lobby and the Dollar Tree. Dick’s Sporting Goods is located in Bechtle Crossing with Kohl’s, Bed, Bath & Beyond and Marshall’s.
A Miami Valley chain that specializes in locally made chocolates and specialty coffee will open a location in downtown Springfield later this fall.
A retail space at 32 N. Fountain Ave. is currently being remodeled, and will open as a Winans Chocolates and Coffees with about eight to 10 employees, said co-owners Travis Van Voorhis and Chandi Shah. The store could be open as early as October.
EF Hutton America, a storied financial firm based in New York City, will move to downtown Springfield, bringing as many as 400 jobs over five years and investing about $22 million.
