SPRINGFIELD (Sept. 8, 2020) – The City of Springfield is now accepting applications for appointment to the Community Police Advisory Team (CPAT). The application period will be open for 30 days, at which time officials will begin their review of submissions.
“The Community Police Advisory Team will be comprised of nine citizen members who will help the community engage with the Springfield Police Division,” said Springfield City Manager Bryan Heck.
The CPAT will assist with reviewing and recommending policy changes of the Springfield Police Division (SPD) and also serve as an additional channel for citizen concerns, said Heck.
CPAT members will be appointed by the Springfield Mayor with consent and approval of City Commission to serve a three-year term. The CPAT will study and make recommendations concerning matters affecting the SPD’s relationship with the community.
The application is available online at springfieldohio.gov/police. Applications may be delivered, mailed, e-mailed or faxed to:
