The City of Springfield Community Development Department will offer a course on Fair Housing Best Practices April 23.
The class will cover essential fair housing practice for the real estate professionals and housing providers. The class will also focus on best fair housing practices in advertising and applications. Special attention will be given to sex and gender-based discrimination and harassment, disability discrimination, reasonable accommodations and modifications ─ accessibility, visitability and animal assistants.
Stefan J. Schmidt, principal assistant attorney general, and Sharon D. Tassie, assistant civil rights section chief with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office will provide the training.
The class is open to housing professionals, landlords, realtors, housing providers and property management staff.
The course will be held from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott, 100 S. Fountain Ave. The $20 registration fee includes breakfast which will be served at 8 a.m. To register, call the Community Development Department at 937-324-7696.
