The City of Springfield Vacant Property Registration Program, established in 2020, is a proactive initiative designed to protect the health and safety of our community. This program regulates the maintenance of properties that are in foreclosure, abandoned, or vacant. By requiring registration, the program aims to reduce and prevent neighborhood blight, avoid the creation and persistence of public nuisances, and address conditions that threaten public health, safety, and welfare. It also promotes neighborhood stability and occupancy by preserving the condition and appearance of residential areas and supporting the vitality of commercial and industrial zones. Ultimately, the program helps safeguard property values and ensure a higher quality of life for all Springfield residents.
The City of Springfield has partnered with HERA Property Registry to administer the Vacant Property Registry Program. In order to comply, all owners, mortgagees, trustees and/or any other person, firm or corporation that is directly or indirectly in control of the property must register online via HERA Property Registry at the link below.
Registration fees are as follows:
Residential - $125 annually
Commercial - $300 semi-annually

If you have any questions regarding registration, please contact HERA at 321-234-5303.
