SPRINGFIELD (May 19, 2020) – The City of Springfield’s Community Development Department will offer a course on Tenant Education through virtual meetings on Zoom beginning next week.
The classes are designed to provide tenants with important information about doing tenant life well. The course content includes resources available, housekeeping tips, personal budgeting, credit, landlord-tenant law, fair housing rights, and mediation and city services. The sessions will also be available for viewing on the City’s website and social media platforms after the events.
- Tuesday, May 26, 4-5 p.m.: “Tenant Housekeeping Tips, Resources and Stress Management,” with James Wallace, Interfaith Hospitality Network, Men Shelter’s Coordinator.
- Wednesday, May 27, 4-5 p.m.: “Landlord-Tenant Law” with Frank Catanzariti, Senior Managing Attorney of Legal Aid of Western Ohio.
- Tuesday, June 2, 4-4:30 p.m.: “Personal Financial Management” with Rachel Klopfer, Credit Counselor, Consumer Credit Counseling Service, The Homeownership Center of Greater Dayton; 4:30-5:30 p.m.: “Understanding Your Credit” with Rachel Klopfer, Credit Counselor, Consumer Credit Counseling Service, The Homeownership Center of Greater Dayton.
- Wednesday, June 3, 4-5 p.m.: “Fair Housing, Mediation and City Services” with Nancy Flinchbaugh, Fair Housing and Mediation Coordinator, City of Springfield.
