Villa Road Construction

Construction along Villa Road will begin on March 20th. This project consists of widening the roadway to add a center left turn lane and the installation of a multi-user trail between Derr Road and Red Coach Drive. A new traffic signal will be installed at Red Coach Drive and Villa Road. In addition, the pavement from Red Coach Drive to Urbana Road will be shaved and paved and the curbing replaced. This project is necessary to improve the safety along the corridor and improve the vehicle delay which in turn reduces emissions. Phase 1 construction consists of constructing the pavement widening, curbing and the bike trail along the south side of the roadway. There will also be some minor storm sewer and waterline work in this phase. Access will be maintained at all times to properties along the project. One lane of traffic will be maintained westbound from Red Coach Drive to Derr Road. Local traffic only will be maintained in both directions from Urbana Road to Red Coach Drive during Phase 1. A detour will be placed at Urbana Road for through traffic to continue southbound on Urbana Road to Home Road; continue east on Home Road to Derr Road and north on Derr Road to Villa Road. Once Phase 1 is complete, traffic will be moved to the new portion of the roadway and the northern portion will be widened between Red Coach and Derr Road. The curbing between Red Coach and Urbana Road will be replaced and the roadway will be shaved and paved in this area. Traffic will be one way westbound from Derr Road to Urbana Road during Phase 2 construction.
